Wellington is a vibrant, cosmopolitan city with a rich history as New Zealand's capital.
Walk Wellington tours give you an opportunity to get to know the city in a short time with enthusiastic and knowledgeable local guides. Our tours visit key sights in the city centre, including Civic Square, Queen's Wharf, the Supreme Court, the Old Government Buildings, the grounds of Parliament, and Old St Paul's Cathedral.
Small groups ensure that you get a personalised experience to make the most of your time in Wellington.
Tours run every day at 10am, rain or shine. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a jacket if needed. We meet at the i-SITE Visitor Centre at 111 Wakefield St (at Cuba St) which is adjacent to Civic Square. Look for the guide in the green vest.
Over the summer months of December, January, February and March, there is an additional 90 minute evening walk. This walk departs from the Visitor Centre at 5.00pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings. The route includes part of the city centre, the waterfront, and ends in Courtenay Place, which is Wellington's entertainment and dining area.
During the cruise ship season additional walks are available for prearranged guests. These walks depart from the cruise shuttle drop off point at the i-SITE Visitor Centre. More details are available on the Walk Wellington website www.walkwellington.org.nz
