Spend the day at Lochmara reconnecting with the kids. Explore our trails, or come and enjoy a meal at our café. There is always the option to stay a few days, subject to availability. Our day trip rates include Lochmara return water transport from Picton, free use of the kayaks and paddle boards, viewing of the land-based feedings of the native Kakariki's, pigs and eels and more...

Get off the beaten path and explore our bushwalks and self-guided ecotour, feed the native kakariki parakeets, native eels, and kune kune pigs, visit the bird and gecko enclosures, discover art galleries and the hidden sculpture trail, play in the kayaks and on the beach, relax in a hammock, walk the Queen Charlotte Track or indulge in the th house or cafe?? ??? it is up to you!
UNDERWATER OBSERVATORY. The vessel is permanently moored at Lochmara Lodge and we will be running guided tours down below the vessel. You will be well informed and entertained by our passionate wildlife guides. Guided tours are approx 30-40 mins. $20 per adult. $10 per school age child. Book at Lochmara.
Day trips depart from Picton daily at 9am, 12.15pm and 3.15pm.
Cafe is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Fresh daily baking, snacks and coffee is served all day.
Lochmara is not a picnic destination.
Depart Lochmara back to Picton daily at 11.00am, 2.45pm and 4pm April, May and September and changes to 5pm in October for the summer season.
Please note minimum numbers apply, but also group rates(6 or more adults) also apply. Timetable may change due to weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances. Charter bookings available for larger groups.
