Experience Kaikōura like you’ve never seen it before.
Your 3.5-hour adventure and eco-tourism experience starts in central Kaikōura. At EcoZip’s homebase, you’ll meet some of our legendary crew, who will prep you for your 15-minute scenic shuttle ride south, in airconditioned comfort, to our “gear up” and staging location.
From there, you’ll be transferred to a custom-built Unimog 4X4 that will carry you through the intertwined freshwater streams of the Kahutara river, then onto Rakanui Station.
Through all stages of your experience you’ll be accompanied by two of our expert, local guides, who will describe the history of the region, share stories of the local people and explain how your participation in the EcoZip experience is helping to restore sections of Rakanui Station’s farmland back to native forest.
Set amongst native bush on a working farm station just 15 minutes south of Kaikoura township, EcoZip Adventures is an award-winning adventure and eco-tourism destination, offering state-of-the-art flying-fox ziplines and a beautiful, eco-immersive experience. Dedicated to lovers of nature and adventure of all ages, you’ll enjoy ‘the complete Kaikoura experience’ with us, riding a series of 5 giant flying-fox ziplines side-by-side through beautiful Rakanui Station, comprising native-tree covered hills, verdant valleys, braided rivers, cascading waterfalls, rolling farmland and spectacular 360 degree views.
Crossing the Kahutara river in our 4X4 vehicle, taking in the sweeping views of South Bay, home to Kaikoura’s whale watching fleet, and the Kaikoura peninsula, where Maui placed his heel to steady himself as he hauled North Island from the ocean, enjoy commentary from our team of expert, local guides, before completing 5 epic zipline, ranging from 250 - 610m in length, followed by a walk back to base through our native tree nursey and regenerating forest.
Our twin cables make this a unique experience as, unlike other zipline tours, you can fly side-by-side with a friend or family member down lines totaling more than 2km in length. At EcoZip Adventures, you'll find we've turned a usually solo experience in to a highly social one!
Conservation is at the heart of our business, so while riding our ziplines is undeniably huge fun, and something you can share with friends, family and colleagues, you can do it knowing that by zipping with us you’re directly contributing to the preservation and protection of a beautiful, yet once threatened, piece of NZ. Native tree planting and pest eradication programmes are set to return the site to its beautiful, untouched state; so, when you stroll through our regenerating bush with your zipline guide, you’ll gain a glimpse of 100% Pure New Zealand, experience our dedication to protecting it and hear the stories of how this spectacular land has changed and adapted, before being returned back to Kaikoura.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellation/amendment by the Participant
Bookings cancelled within 48-hours of scheduled departure time are non-refundable. Bookings amended to another date and/or time within 48-hours of scheduled departure time are subject to a rescheduling fee of $49 per person. Participants that fail to present themselves 15 minutes before their Zipline (‘no show’) will forfeit 100% of their payment.
Bookings cancelled more than 48-hours before scheduled departure time are subject to a $25 cancellation charge per person and the balance shall be refunded. Subject to availability such bookings may be amended once free-of-charge. Any subsequent amendments or cancellations will be subject to the cancellation charges set out in these Terms.
Cancellation by us
For the safety of our Participants, due to inclement weather or due to events beyond our control EcoZip Adventures may need to cancel a tour. EcoZip Adventures will use all reasonable endeavours to contact the Participant in sufficient time to notify of the cancellation. In the event that we cancel a tour the Participant will be offered either a full refund or a booking transfer to an alternative date and/or time. EcoZip Adventures is not liable in any circumstances for any costs incurred by the Participant as a result of such a cancellation.
Cancellation due to lockdown
In the event that we are unable to operate due to either a national or regional Covid-19 lockdown, you can choose either:
A full refund, or
A rebook to an alternative date of your choice
